Frequently asked questions
Answers to what Geneva SMEs and organisations ask us most — pricing, security, compliance and support. Can't find yours? Write to us or book a free audit.
Pricing & engagements
How much does managed IT cost?
It depends on what you need — we don't force everyone into a single model. Depending on your size and setup, that might be a per-user monthly fee, a per-site arrangement, or a fixed scope of work, with security built in rather than sold as afterthoughts. A short call and our free audit give you a clear, itemised proposal tailored to your situation.
Are we locked into a long contract?
No. We adapt the terms to your situation rather than imposing a single model, and we earn renewals rather than trapping you. You always keep ownership of your accounts, licences and documentation, so if we ever stop deserving your business, leaving is clean and straightforward.
We already have an IT provider — how does switching work?
A structured 30-day takeover: we audit, document, transfer credentials, verify your backups, then cut over — while your team keeps working. Most incumbent providers cooperate; when they don't, we know how to take over regardless. Most users notice nothing except faster answers.
Is the free IT audit really free?
Yes — the audit and its written findings are free and carry no obligation. Many companies use it simply to understand their exposure; some ask us to fix what we find. Either way the report is yours to keep.
What size of company do you work with?
We serve SMEs from roughly 5 users upward, as well as NGOs, international organisations and diplomatic missions of all sizes. Our sweet spot is organisations that need enterprise-grade IT and security without an enterprise-sized internal team.
Security & compliance
Are you ISO 27001 certified?
Yes. InterHyve operates a certified ISO 27001 information security management system, verified by ATTESTA. This means our own processes meet an internationally recognised security standard — and it turns your clients' and donors' security questionnaires into a formality rather than a scramble.
Does our data stay in Switzerland / under Swiss law?
It can. We host in Switzerland when your mandate requires it, and everything we manage stays under Swiss law. For organisations adopting AI, our redaction gateway keeps sensitive or beneficiary data from ever leaving your control.
Can you help us comply with the nLPD (Swiss data protection law)?
Yes. Our consulting division runs nLPD readiness programmes — mapping your data, closing the common gaps, and documenting a defensible position — while our SOC provides the detection and breach-notification capability the law assumes you have.
How do you protect us against ransomware?
Through layered controls that stop the common entry points: EDR on every device, MFA with no legacy exceptions, email filtering against phishing, patch management, and — critically — a 24/7 SOC that watches your environment at 3 a.m., plus backups we actually test for recovery. Most ransomware succeeds through gaps these controls close.
What is a SOC, and why does 24/7 matter?
A Security Operations Center is the team and tooling that watches your systems for attacks in real time. 24/7 matters because attacks don't wait for office hours — credential-stuffing and intrusions frequently happen overnight. The gap between detection and containment is measured in minutes when someone is actually watching, and in days or weeks when no one is.
Support & practical
How fast do you respond when something breaks?
Helpdesk answers during business hours with priority-based targets; critical and security incidents are handled 24/7 by our Geneva SOC. Typical first response for a blocked user is minutes, not hours.
Do you work on site or only remotely?
Both. Most issues resolve faster remotely, but our engineers are in Geneva — on-site interventions across Geneva and Vaud are part of the contract, not an extra.
Do you support English and French speaking staff?
Yes, natively in both — plus several other languages. This matters for International Geneva organisations with rotating, multinational teams, and our documentation is written to survive staff changes.
Can you work alongside our head-office IT team?
Yes. For European subsidiaries we routinely operate as the local arm of a group IT: local support and compliance here in Geneva, coordinated with your global standards and tooling.
What exactly do you manage?
The full IT operation for a fixed monthly fee: helpdesk, workstations and servers, Microsoft 365 with backup, network and firewall, the managed security baseline, and 24/7 monitoring — with a named engineering lead and quarterly reviews. One accountable partner for your whole stack, rather than a chain of vendors.
How do we get started?
Book a free IT audit or talk to an engineer. We'll review where you stand, give you a clear written picture, and — if it's a fit — a per-user proposal and a 30-day onboarding plan. No pressure and no obligation.
